Hi,
If the phone has been connected to an outlet charger during the lightning strike, it may have succumb to a power issue. There are few things that you can try before rushing to the nearest service center in your area. First is to perform a soft reset or forced reboot. Just press and hold the volume down button and power keys together for at least 15 seconds. If this doesn’t work, try performing a boot up in safe mode. Press and hold the volume down button and power keys for up to 20 or 30 seconds. If you’ll see the Samsung logo, release the power key but keep on pressing the volume down button. The normal reboot process will continue.
You may also initiate a boot up in Recovery mode process. Press and hold these three buttons at the same time: Volume Up Key, Home Key and Power Key. If you feel a vibration on your Samsung Galaxy S8, release the Power key but keep pressing the Volume Up key and Home key. If you’ll see the Android System Recovery screen, release the Volume Up and Home keys. Press the Volume down button and go to “Wipe Cache Partition”. Press the Power key to select that option. Once done, go to “Reboot system now” and press the power key once it is highlighted to reboot the device.
I hope that it helps in resolving your problem. If not, you may go to a service center and have your phone checked by their onsite technician.
