I have a two part question regarding SOS calling on the Galaxy Watch. I have a 42mm Samsung Galaxy with LTE, but I am NOT on a paid carrier plan (my CSC is set to T-Mobile for software updates). I want to use my watch as a stand-alone device (I won’t have my phone) when out running.
As one further background point, if I disconnect from bluetooth and WiFI, then go into connections and enable my mobile connection, I do see the “signal strength” bars, like I’m connected to a mobile network, but the sim card icon (with the little ‘x’) is still visible as well.
- Even though I’m not on a carrier plan for LTE services, will my watch still call emergency services if I set “911” as an emergency contact?
- If I set my “Mobile Network” connection to “Always Off” to conserve my battery, will LTE automatically be re-enabled if I initiate a SOS/Emergency call?
