I have had a Samsung S9 for a year and a half and have never received a software update. It is a US version but I’m in the UK. The serial number is G960USQU2ARC6 if this helps. I have tried everything in your article but it didn’t work.

You can only receive Firmware Over The Air update if your phone is logged in to your Samsung Account. A WiFi is also needed or a data-traffic over 3G or 4G (charges may be applied). Your phone should also have at least 50% battery life and 3 GB memory space. You will also not receive an Over-the-air update if you previously installed unauthorized software on your Samsung device.
Thus, you have the option to manually install a software update on your device. Try this out…
Connect your phone to a WiFi or enable the cellular data and manually check for available software update. Here’s what you need to do:
> Go to Settings.
> Tap Software updates.
> Wait for the for to check for available updates.
> Once an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
If you want to automatically download the update whenever available, simply tap the switch to enable Auto download over WiFi. Once this option is enabled, your phone will automatically update whenever it’s connected to a WiFi network and when an update is available.
