My work issued me a Samsung galaxy s8 to use instead of my personal phone. For reasons I’d like to find a fix that doesnt involve a hard reset or new phone.
This past holiday weekend I forgot to turn my phone off on Friday, and on tuesday I noticed it was dead. I charged it for a few hours and tried to turn it on… it got to the “Galaxy S8” image but restarted before the screen could even fully appear. Tried a few more times and figured maybe it wasnt charging properly so switch the charger I was using for it (which is the one that came with it) for the one I use on my personal galaxy s9. After a couple hours tries restarting it… it now gets to the “Galaxy S8” image but immediately reboots.
I’ve tried the soft reset many articles recommend (both by holding power key first and by holding volume down first) with no luck.
I’ve tried doing the volume up, Bixby, and power key combo to do safe mode… but the phone just keeps flashing to the galaxy s8 screen before immediately going black and continuing the cycle every second or two.
Anyone have this problem before and found a solution that didnt involve a factory reset or new phone?
