I have some Win10 laptops which are used for scientific data collection. As such, we can never connect them to the internet for fear of a Windows update sneaking in.
We need to reinstall DirectX on these machines. However the downloaded installer wants to connect to a server to download and unpack the files.
Can we download and unpack the files on another machine that might be at a different level of Windows10, and then bring them over to the offline machine on a USB stick? Or will the files downloaded as part of the DirectX install be different for different versions of Windows?
