Note 9 s pen wont connect

I jus bought this phone off of ebay it was an open box phone pretty much brand new i think. And once i turned it on and got set up i tried to go to the s pen remote settings and its said it was disconnected so i tried to connect it and every time i put the pen is it jus kept saying please insert s pen. So i did research and thought they sent me a non generic s pen like a fake one so i ordered 2 different s pens that are supposed to be original generic bluetooth spens and tried both of them and it still doesnt work. Ive tried everything do you think its my phone?? PleSe help me i spent alot of money on thise phone mainily for the s pen features and thats the one thing that wont work?
