Hi phone just does not charge or boot. New battery and new cord. Once I got the charge and after battery was full, it started ok. Then switched off and got this message.
COULD NOT DO NORMAL BOOT
ddi:mmc__read failed
Dux start.
Tried all the button presses, soft reset, nothing. Once it starts on the charger it is ok, BUT to get it started..no go.
Thanks

Hi, Peter!
Did you perform a root on your Galaxy Npte 4 smartphone prior getting this kind of error or did it simply showed up after changing the battery and cord? If you’ve root your phone, it may have inherent the possible risks of rooting a smartphone. You may re-install the stock ROM if you’ve installed a different firmware which could fix the issue.
If you’ve not performed any third party ROM installation, this issue might have been caused by a software glitch. My recommendation is to perform a boot up with safe mode on your Galaxy Note 4. To perform a safe mode boot up, simply turn off your device. Then press and hold the power button and the volume down button. Once the phone starts to boot up, release the power button but continue holding the volume down button until the phone finished restarting. Safe mode will be displayed at the lower left corner and you may release the volume down button once you see it.
Performing a factory reset might help but it will wipe out all data on your smartphone. If you wish to give this a try, just turn off the device completely. Then press and hold the Volume Up and the Home buttons together, and then press and hold the power button. When you feel a vibration on your phone, release both the home and power buttons but continue pressing the Volume Up button. If you’ll see the Android System Recovery on your screen, release the Volume Up button. Highlight the “wipe data/factory reset” option by pressing the volume down button repeatedly. Once it’s highlighted, press the power button to select it. Using the volume down button again, highlight “Yes – delete all user data” option and press the power button to select it. Once the reset has been completed, highlight the “Reboot System Now” option and press the power button to select it. Wait for your Note 4 to reboot and check if the issue has been fixed.
If none of these recommendations fixed the issue, contact the nearest Samsung service center at your area for further assistance.
