I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (un-locked)I purchased new, about 6 moths ago. It has turned into a brick and I can get no help from Samsung. I have tried all the recommended steps on the web and specifically on this site with no luck. I am hoping you can help me diagnose the problem if given more detail.
Initially I turned the phone off as part of a software re-boot as directed by the software CS. I have been using this software for several years on this and several older Galaxy S models phones and had only recently started having a problem on this phone with it not syncing. The software is a well known CRM.
I powered off the phone and when I went to reboot I would get the Samsung static intro in black and white, followed by their motion logo in black and white, then in color the ATT logo with the ATT tone, then everything went black. I contacted Samsung CS and followed their directions for a soft restart to no avail. At this point I would only have the blue “charging” LED blinking slowly. They then advised a I try to boot in SAFE MODE, but the phone only cycled as above. Safe Mode was never achieved. It did not matter whether I was on battery or plugged into the wall.
I was then directed to try a hard reset. On the first attempt I first got the circle with lightening bolt symbol (normally associated with charging but no green to indicate level of charge) then very briefly I did get tiny blue text print in the top left of the screen, followed by a full blue screen and then black. After that I get nothing. It does not respond to charging, connection to a PC (and the PC does not recognize it). It is a proverbial brick
Samsung is going to be no help (they said so since it is out of warranty do to model age) and the local repair shop says they haven’t a clue. This model of Galaxy active does not have an easily accessible battery, which is normally where I would look first for a problem. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
