I have a Motorola G4 purchased in 2017. A few months ago, it would randomly freeze and stop working. I would power off and reboot and it would work again. This continued for a few weeks. Then it would freeze soon after booting up. So I would power off and reboot and it would work again. This continued for a few weeks. Eventually, it would freeze during booting up and would stick on the Motorola blue screen. I tried to factory reset holding power + volume down buttons but it did not do anything. On the advice of Motorola, I used Smart Assist software to perform a “rescue” but it would not recognise my device was connected to my laptop. So I left the device alone for a few months.
Recently, I put my phone on charge and the little white LED flashed whilst charging. I left to charge overnight and then booted up the phone and it worked. I performed a factory reset (holding power + volume down buttons) and set up device using google and connected to wifi, but did not install any apps or use camera or consume memory. It worked fine for couple of hours then froze and then shut down by itself and stayed on blue Motorola screen until battery died. Now, it will not turn on at all even if I am holding power + volume down buttons. If I put phone on charge, the little white LED at bottom of the handset will flash. But despite leaving on charge for many hours, it will not turn on and will not boot up and will not react to holding power + volume down buttons.
I have not attempted to remove the battery or consider that there is a problem with the battery or with charging. I am assuming I have a software or hardware problem.
Grateful for any suggestions you may have please.
