My smartphone will not download files sent to me from an iPhone. I have never owned an iPhone. The messages I receive from iphones are missing parts of conversations. I always Download the most recent upgrades to software but this doesn’t seem to fix the problem.

This can happen if you have just switched from iPhone to Samsung and kept the same phone number. But since you have mentioned that you have never owned an iPhone, try this out:
Reset Network Settings
> Launch Settings app.
> Tap General management.
> Tap Reset.
> Tap Reset network settings.
> Select the Reset Settings button.
> Then restart your galaxy s9 and check if the problem is already fixed.
If the problem still persists, you might consider restoring your phone to factory default settings (Factory Reset). Make sure to back up your files beforehand.
FACTORY RESET:
> Turn off your phone.
> Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
> When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
> Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
> Press Power button to select.
> Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
> Press Power button to select and start the master/factory reset.
> ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted when the master reset is complete.
> Press the Power key to restart the device.
If you are still unable to open MMS messages from iOS users, then it’s better for you to contact your network operator and escalate the issue.
