So, I own an LG Stylo 4, not quite a year old, bought brand new from a store. Several months ago, I noticed a very strange behavior. Randomly, and without much warning, the phone would freeze up- would not open or close, hitting the power button did nothing, or respond in any manner or fashion for a varying amount of time- before shutting off, and then turning back on. And it would do this on a fairly consistent basis, sometimes even daily.
Now, i tried all the usual tricks, restarting it, checking for software updates, cleaning the cache, everything short of a factory reset, which is always my last resort. However, after I decided to simply shut it down overnight and leave it alone, the issue ceased and didn’t happen again for about a month or two until a about a month ago, when it started back up again full swing. Exact same behavior.
Now, I’ve tried LG’s website, which was no help, and for obvious reasons at this time, I cant exactly visit the T-Mobile where i bought it to have them take a look. So. Any Suggestions?
(Just to avoid anything pointless, phone has NON REMOVABLE BATTERY. It has not been dropped from any great height, into water, or otherwise. It has a protective case, and a screen protector.)
That being said, and suggestions or help is welcomed. Thanks!
Harold
It seems you’ve already tried all the tricks that we often do to smartphones that have issues we can’t explain.
If this is just a problem with the firmware, the reset should have already fixed it.
And if it is a known bug, a software update should’ve also fixed it.
If it’s a failing battery, then the phone should not freeze before it shuts down.
If the device is running low on storage, it may freeze every now and then but shouldn’t reboot.
How about the apps you use when the problem occurs? Does this behavior happen when you’re using a certain app?
How about the temperature, was there an instance where the phone became unusually hot?
