i was using my iPhone 7plus perfectly until I wiped it and afterwards it says no sim ….. i tried wiping again, restart, take out the sim and replaced it NOTHING works …. how can this be a result in fault in the motherboard and it chose to stop work after it was wiped ?

I never encountered an issue with iPhones before wherein the device can no longer detect the SIM card after the reset.
We can’t also rule out the possibility that it’s a motherboard issue, in fact, that’s unlikely as the device still powers on or works.
But try cleaning the connector of the SIM card using a dry cloth. If that doesn’t work, try inserting it into a new phone and see if it still works. If that’s not possible, you should call your provider and ask the rep to check the status of the SIM if it’s still active.
To probe further, try inserting a different SIM card on your iPhone and see if it can detect it.
