Hello.
My iPhone 10 is broke. And honestly, I’m not sure which IOS version I had. I really don’t care about my phone, all I care about is are the pictures of my kids. I was having issues backing up and transferring photos. I was running low on memory, so I was in the middle of deleting apps when my phone was acting slow. I restarted it and I I got was the Apple logo for over 12 hours and then to recovery mode. I got on the phone with Apple and they told me to update iTunes and try to update my phone. I keep getting error code 14. I’ve called data recovery companies and everyone is telling me that error 14 is the worst error code and that my pictures will not be able to be recovered, and that no technology (right now) can get my photos back.
Just wondering if you have any insight on anything else left to do. Again, I’m just trying to get my photos/videos is all. Is it silly that I’m holding onto the phone in the hopes that maybe someday technology will allow me to get my photos back?
Thanks,
Chelsie

In your situation, the best option you have is to log into iCloud.com using the Apple ID you use on your iPhone X. You may have uploaded some of the photos there, so download them first.
As to the iTunes error 14, we have published a guide that might help you regain access to your iPhone. So follow the link below: https://www.ikream.com/how-to-fix-iphone-could-not-be-updated-error-14-update-using-itunes-37933
