I was able to successfully create a simple GIF out of a video file in my Samsung Video Editor. It is only 2 seconds long and 1.7MB, but will NOT send via text message correctly:
*i attach my own GIF as usual to a text message (am able to successfully send other GIFs, not created by me)
*the GIF is delivered…BUT the problem is it shortens the GIF to 1 second (maybe even .5 second)
How to fix, custom made GIF from not being shortened in length when texted??
Harold
It’s actually has something to do with the size of the GIF you’re making. Anything sent through text over 1000KB will be compressed. Your GIF is not shortened but sped up. I still can’t believe Samsung hasn’t found a way around this but then again it might also be due to carrier restrictions.
I think the best thing you can do is to create a GIF not over 1000KB to preserve the quality.
And please note that if you send the GIF using other methods, the quality will be preserved. It’s only when you send it through text that it will be compressed.
