Galaxy note 8

My friends galaxy note 8 will not turn on or charge.  I’ve been using a wireless charger for a substitute. This device fails to accomplish any reboot or restart method and when i looked for a LDI (liquid damage indicator) it wasn’t to be found on the SIM card tray as indicated online. Considering i can’t confirm it’s water damage, im unsure what the malfunction could be.  However, im convinced it’s the only answer considering all other methods fail.
