Above are some videos of what my camera is doing. Front camera works fine. Back camera is now black. Physical cameras are fine, they aren’t broken. Everything was fine this morning and now I can’t get my back camera to function. I’ve restarted my phone three times, I don’t need to update my software, I have plenty of storage right now. I don’t know what’s up. Everything I’ve seen about the black camera screen issue says it can be fixed my force closing the camera app, etc. and that hasn’t done shit for me. I just got my phone maybe two weeks ago. Anytime I try taking a photo with the back cameras, the camera app will crash. It still takes selfies fine. Thinking it’s a software issue? I don’t know what to do. Please help!!! I pick up my puppy next weekend and I want to take some photos so I can reminisce down the road!!!! 🙁

There are two possibilities here; either it’s just a firmware-related issue, or the camera needs to be replaced. But sadly, we can only rule out one of them.
If this is just a firmware-related issue affecting the camera, then a factory reset should fix it. I have personally encountered similar issues in the past but they weren’t serious. In fact, I only had to do reboots before to make the camera on my iPhone work again.
However, if this is a hardware problem, then a reset won’t be able to fix it, and if that’s the case, you will need to have the device fixed by a technician.
